Boat
Lapat is a dive-focused liveaboard built and designed for cruising the rich waters of the Andaman Sea. At approximately 24 m in length with a beam around 5 m, she combines practical layout with comfort for multi-day diving trips.
Lapat features air-conditioned cabins, shaded outdoor dining areas, and a spacious sundeck with comfy mattresses for relaxing between dives. There’s an indoor salon/lounge with entertainment, and a buffet-style dining area where fresh meals — blending local Thai flavours with familiar Western dishes — are served daily. Guests especially appreciate freshly brewed coffee during surface intervals.
Lapat is supported by an experienced local crew and dive guides familiar with the Similan and Surin dive sites, ensuring safe, well-led dives throughout the trip. Daily schedules often include optional sunset or night dives alongside the main dive programs.
Cabin
Lapat offers 8 comfortable air-conditioned guest cabins, accommodating a total of 16 guests:

Located on the main deck, each cabin has a comfortable double bed, ensuite bathroom, seaview windows.
5 Standard Cabins
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with two single bunk beds, portholes. Bathroom facilities are shared and supplemented by outdoor showers.

Depending on location, you’ll arrive back to your hotel in Phuket at approximately 7pm – 8:30 pm.
Top Dive Sites
Richelieu Rock: Thailand’s best dive site, bar none. A stunning array of soft corals and spectacular stampeding marine life.
Koh Bon: Thailand’s manta ray hotspot, with plenty of other things to see if the mantas don’t show up.
Koh Bon Pinnacle: is a deep dive site that feels utterly remote – and where anything could show up out of the blue.
Koh Tachai: is one of the Similan Islands’ best dive sites but also one of the most volatile. Massive fans, huge schools of fish, maybe manta rays – it’s all to play for.
West Of Eden: A big boulder site with spectacular outsize fan corals, beautiful soft corals and the promise of full fish activity, West Of Eden is an archetypal Similan Islands dive site.
Ao Suthep, Surin Islands: is beautiful hard coral garden in the Surin Islands, often visited by Similan island diving liveaboards and accessible by snorkellers visiting the Surin Islands too.
Boulder City: A dramatic deep water Similan dive site, Boulder City needs the right conditions to explore as it’s exposed to wind and wave from all sides.
Shark’s Fin Reef: A dramatic block of rock rising out of the sand, Shark’s Fin Reef is one of the Similan Islands’ most exciting sites.
Hideaway Bay: Two Similan Islands dive sites in one location, Hideaway Bay and Tuna Wreck can be experienced in a single dive.
North Point: is another of the Similans’ signature big boulder sites, with huge great rocks rising out of the white sand.
Three Trees: named after the three trees directly above the dive site on Similan Island 9, is a big wide white sand channel with some awesome corals and fish encounters.
Christmas Point: One of the signature Similan Islands big boulder dive sites, Christmas Point’s huge rocks have been shaped by the tides over hundreds of years.

Useful information
Similan Islands
Best time for diving
Mid-October - May is the optimum diving season on the Andaman coast (west coast). From early December until late April you can usually expect clear skies nearly every day. On average, you can expect 20 meters of visibility at The Similan Islands throughout the diving season.
Due to the likelihood of extreme weather during the monsoon months, the local authorities close the marine parks from May 16th until October 14th every year. Therefore the Similan diving season is from October 15th to May 15th.
About temperatures
Air: throughout the year, temperatures range from 25°C to 34°C with April through May being the hottest month and January the coldest
Sea: between 27°C - 29°C all year round, there are times when it drops to the mid or even low 20s, but in general these are rare or temporary occasions.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm wetsuit year-round.

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Most of the embarkation and disembarkation are in Khao Lak, or Phuket, guests can fly in/out of Phuket International Airport (HKT).
Transfer between Phuket Airport and Tap Lamu Pier (Khao Lak) is approximately 1 ½ - 2hr, depending on traffic.
Transfer between Phuket Airport and Chalong Pier is approximately 1 ½hrs, depending on traffic.
A few liveaboards set their embarkation and disembarkation in Ranong (UNN).
Visa Requirements
Many nationalities can visit Thailand without a visa under the Visa on Arrival rule or Visa Exemption scheme. These options allow visitors to stay for up to 30 or 45 days.

Vaccinations
No specific vaccinations are required unless you are coming from or passing through contaminated areas. Yellow fever certificates are required for those who are coming from the following 14 countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Angola, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mauritania, Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, and Zaire.
Money Matters
The local currency is the Thai Baht (THB). The majority of established hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards.
However, smaller, family-run places probably will not. There are money changers and ATMs located at the airport and the ports.
Drones
Tourists can bring their drones into Thailand. However, they are not allowed to fly their drones here until they have registered their devices with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).
