Boat

Kurabesi Nusantara carries the name of a legendary Biak warrior who fought alongside the Sultan of Ternate to liberate his people from Portuguese rule — a story deeply rooted in the history of Eastern Indonesia. Built in 2014 at the traditional shipyard of Tanah Beru in South Sulawesi, this classic 30-metre wooden Phinisi schooner is crafted from ironwood and beautifully finished with teakwood interiors and furniture, giving the vessel a warm and welcoming character that is hard to match.

Kurabesi Nusantara is fully Indonesian-owned and operated with a genuine commitment to nature conservation, local culture, and community empowerment — particularly across the regions of Papua, Maluku, and Ternate. Every detail on board reflects this spirit, from the traditional eastern Indonesian woven cloth used in the décor, to the curated selection of artisanal Indonesian food and drink brands served to guests.

The main deck is the heart of everyday life on board. Here you will find a cosy lounge with a reading nook and mini-library, a dedicated camera room, a mini-bar, and the chef's galley. On rainy afternoons, sink into a bean bag, pick up a book, or challenge a fellow guest to backgammon. The semi-open dining area sits on the upper deck, where fresh meals are served four times daily with panoramic views of the surrounding seas. Above it all, the open sun deck offers four loungers — a perfect perch for catching the sunrise, watching the sunset, or stargazing under the tropical sky.

Dining on Kurabesi Nusantara is a fully Indonesian experience. The on-board chef prepares fresh, home-style Indonesian cuisine using locally sourced ingredients and curated natural products, with mild spice levels that cater to a variety of palates. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon snacks are all included. Unlimited tea, coffee and mineral water are available throughout the day, and the bar stocks a selection of soft drinks, cold beer, wine and spirits available for purchase.

The boat carries two 7-metre fiberglass tender boats to ferry guests to dive sites, remote beaches and onshore destinations. For water sports enthusiasts, two family-sized kayaks and an inflatable stand-up paddleboard are available free of charge. Guests can also join overnight beach camps, barbecues, and birdwatching excursions — all part of the Kurabesi Explorer experience.

Cabin

Kurabesi Nusantara has 6 guest cabins, accommodating up to 12 guests for dive trips or 14 guests for cruising:

All cabins are air-conditioned and fitted with a private ensuite bathroom featuring hot water, a flush toilet and shower, along with storage cabinets, reading lights, fresh towels and organic toiletries.

1 Double Cabin :
Located on the main deck, comes with a double bed and private ensuite bathroom, seaview window.

1 Main Cabin :
Located on the lower deck, comes with a double bed, large portholes.

4 Standard Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, each configured with 4 bunk bed for 2 person per room. All cabins have private ensuite bathrooms with hot water and individually controlled air conditioning.

Diving

• Typically 2 - 3 dives per day + additional sunset/night dives.
• No dive on the embarkation and disembarkation day.
• Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.
• All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.
• Kayaks, SUPs and snorkelling gear are available free of charge.
• Beach barbecues and overnight camping excursions available.
