Boat
Sequoia was built in 2017, measuring 26 meters long and 6.5 meters wide. It was named after the giant Sequoia tree which is one of the oldest living organisms on earth. This yacht was designed with an emphasis on space, privacy and comfort.
It is a modern take of on the classic sailing yacht, combined the best aspects of traditional Sulawesi hull construction, with the most advanced marine machinery, hardware, and electronics to produce this remarkable vessel. A focus on advanced technology increases comfort and safety for the guests.
Every detail has been handmade by local artisans, and/or handpicked with sustainability in mind. We do not use single-use plastic or palm oil product on board Sequoia.
Sequoia has an intimate and cozy lounge room, a spacious sky deck, and plenty of areas to relax. The open deck area in front of the wheelhouse is perfect for sunbathing or reading.
The lounge room is surrounded by 20 handmade teak-louvered doors. The focal point is a luxurious, teak dining table, where family and friend will gather for meals, conversation and a bit of fun.
The Sky Deck is 12 x 6 meters platform that offers endless vistas- from sunrise to sunset. You can enjoy drinks and meals at the large central table or relax under one of the two clamshell day beds. It's the ultimate venue to enjoy dinner and gaze at the stars into the midnight blue.
Chef Petty Elliot collaborated with Sequoia to create a unique menu with Indonesian flare from the finest locally sourced seasonal ingredients. You will be served with dishes that are, meticulously prepared, artfully presented and utterly delicious. The cuisine of Sequoia promises to be an exhilarating, one of a kind dining experience. You may choose to dine in the spectacular great room, al fresco in our sky deck, or on any number of beautiful island beach settings. Itineraries
RAJA AMPAT
This archipelago is comprised of 600 islands, as well as an additional 900 more shoals and islets. Bluewater mangroves connect most of this region’s shallow sandy bottoms. This area of 40,000 km2 / 15,444 miles2, is 7 times the size of the “Island of Gods”, Bali. The best time to visit is October to April when the sea is calmer and the visibility is optimal.
Misool
Misool Island is a remote, tropical hideaway, and one of the four largest islands in the Raja Ampat archipelago. Located off the west coast of the main island of Papua, directly bordering the Seram Sea, the water is a veritable traffic corridor for many large sea creatures.
The southern region of Raja Ampat tends to have more walls with amazing sea fans and soft coral, while North Raja Ampat is more known for hard coral gardens, amazing manta dives and sharks. Here in Misool, more than 60 dive-sites are waiting to be discovered by you. The rainbow of colors, textures, and fish shapes bring you into a world that seems as if Pixar Animation created it.
Triton Bay
Triton Bay is part of the Kaimana Marine Protected Area, which encompasses 6,000 square km (2,300 square miles) and is located in West Papua Province, Indonesia. Fak Fak & Triton Bay “counted marine biodiversity” is 1,005 species of fish, 471 species of hard coral, and 28 species of mantis shrimp. Best time to visit is March to April and October to November.
Banda Sea
This archipelago was the world’s sole source of nutmeg and mace, the fragrant gold that sparked the European Age of exploration and helped finance the Netherlands, the richest of all 17th century countries. The value of the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC), which controlled these spices, was in today’s currency worth more than Apple Corporation today. These islands shaped the history of modern international trade.
Alor
There are 95 islands surrounding this archipelago encompassing 7,420 km2 /2,865 miles2 of land and water. The Pantar Strait is between the islands of Alor and Pantar. The water coming from the Pacific in the north is flowing through this strait to merge with the Indian Ocean in the south. Similar flow occurs in the Komodo Archipelago. With more than 75 dive sites to choose, this area contains 1,200 species of coral reef fish and 500 species of corals. While under water, visibility ranges up to 40m/132 feet in the dry season of July to September.
Komodo
The Komodo Archipelago lies in the Lesser Sunda Islands. This chain starts in Bali and ends in Tanimbar. Now this park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Man and Biosphere Reserve, and one of the New 7-Wonders of Nature.
Sumbawa
Sumbawa lies in the Lesser Sunda Islands. This chain starts in Bali and ends in Tanimbar. In the middle you will find laid back Sumbawa Island. Indonesia is the country with most volcanoes is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. 32 of Indonesia’s 147 volcanoes are in Lesser Sunda Islands. It is part of the world’s ring of fire. Here on the little known island of Sumbawa stands Mount Tambora , a majestic Satonda island with its marine lake in the middle of the island, as well as Sangeang Api standing still in the middle of blue sea.
Trek& Hike
As a bonus, the rainforest behind Mangrove are full of birdlife. Watching birds through the binoculars is becoming more popular every year. It offers an opportunity to spend time outdoors with loved ones examining their beauty and the complexity of avian social interactions. It also allows you to “enjoy the moment” and become one with nature while you try to determine the species under the lens. The variety of birds in Indonesia is astounding with 380 endemic species as well as considerable number of migratory species. Trek to West Papua and/or Raja Ampat allow us to have a chance to witness the dancing of the most beautiful bird on earth "Cenderawasih" The Bird of Paradise.
East of Flores, is the island of Lembata which features massive volcanoes with cliffs that drop into the sea. It has the most severe droughts in the entire Indonesian Archipelago. Lamalera village, on the rocky south coast of Lembata. is known for its traditional whaling done from oar-powered boats using homemade harpoons. During dry season from May to September, Lamalerans keep their eyes on the sperm whale. If a whale wanders close to shore, the villagers launch their boats and give chase under oar and sail. Despite sanctions from The United Nations to its whaling tradition, the locals are still-hunting whales, sharks and rays for the only protein source available. This activity has nothing to do with commercial fishing. It is a matter of survival.

Alor
Best time for diving
April to November, as this is when both visibility and weather are at their best, while September is the best time to spot Mola Mola. The currents usually are strongest in October and November, making conditions more challenging. From late December until early March, Alor is usually considered as off-season due to the rainy season.
About temperatures
Air : winter months are between 26°C - 29°C, summer months are between 27°C - 32°C.
Sea : between 25°C - 27°C from March to April & October to November, between 27°C - 30°C from May to September. Thermoclines are common year round, the water can drop at times to 22°C or lower.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 5 mm full wetsuit. If you get cold easily, we recommend also bring gloves and a hood, or even a 7 mm full wetsuit.
Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels of diver from beginners to experienced. However, in the open blue, the current can be strong at times, so divers should to be comfortable with their skills. While the muck dive sites only have little current. You can find out more information about diving in Alor here : Alor
Embarkation / Disembarkation
Alor liveaboard trips are usually from Maumere to Maumere, guests need to fly to Maumere airport (MOF).
However, some liveaboards often combine Alor with other destinations like Komodo, Banda Sea, Raja Ampat. Then you might only need to arrive or depart from Maumere.

Komodo
Best time for diving
May to October, the weather in Komodo is at its best between April and November. During the wet season (December to March) the weather can get a bit windy, with heavy quick rains, sometimes can cause rough surface conditions. However, liveaboards run trips here year-round.
The visibility in the North is excellent at 30 meters or even more, while it ranges between 10-15 meters in the South.
Some dive sites can have significant currents, whirlpools and see downdrafts. Sea conditions might change very quickly. Other dive sites are more quiet and rich in macro, especially in the South.
About temperatures
Air : range between 23°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : in the North Komodo it can be around 26°C -29°C, while it gets colder towards the south where it can drop down to 22° C.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 - 5 mm full wetsuit throughout the year for Komodo area.
Diver requirement
Intermediate to Advanced level, A good level in diving and some experience in drift diving are recommended to participate to Komodo cruise.

Most of the embarkation / disembarkation will be in Labuan Bajo (LBJ).
Unless the trip is from Bali - Komodo, then the embarkation can be in Bali (DPS).

Sumbawa
Best time for diving
May to October is the prime window for optimal conditions. Expect calm seas, sunny weather, and the best underwater visibility (often 20–35m). Whale Shark sightings in Saleh Bay occur year-round, the highest activity is generally between April and October when plankton blooms are most concentrated. July – October are best for spotting manta rays, sharks, and occasionally Mola Mola.
About temperatures
Air : year round temperatures average 29°C - 32°C, May is usually the hottest month with an average temperature of 30°C, the coldest is January average at 26°C.
Sea : vary from location to location, generally 26°C - 29°C (except during mola mola season - it can drop to 19°C - 21°C), while the north coast are balmy 27°C - 30°C year round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 - 5 mm full wetsuit.
Diver requirement

Triton Bay
Best time for diving
November to April, most liveaboards visit Triton Bay during the Raja Ampat diving season, as from June the winds and rain can cause unpleasant sea conditions. However, rain is possible in West Papua anytime, not just in rainy season.
Some sites are subject to strong currents here, and the visibility in Triton Bay might change abruptly. Rarely exceeding 20 meters, it can lower to less than 10 meters, especially after a lot of raining in Triton Bay. Most of diving is shallow dives, no more than 35 meters.
About temperatures
Air : generally ranges between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : averaging around 26°C - 27°C from May to October, 29°C - 30°C from November to April.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm full wetsuit for November to April, a 5 mm full wetsuit for May to October.
Diver requirement
Suitable for most divers, however, on a number of sites in Triton Bay, a certain level of currents is necessary to attract interesting fish activities. So divers should be ok with the currents. You can find out more information about diving in Wakatobi here : Triton Bay

The nearby airport is Kaimana airport (KNG) in West Papua. However, liveaboards may utilize different ports depends on the itinerary, as often liveaboard trips will combine Triton Bay with other destinations like Raja Ampat, Banda Sea, so please ask our agent to know the exact port for your trip.

Banda Sea
Best time for diving
October to November & March to April, the seas are generally calmer during these months and in October to November there is higher chance to see hammerhead sharks. From May to August the surface conditions can get quite rough.
The visibility is generally good to excellent in Banda Sea areas, except in Ambon bay and in other bays for critter dives. Currents are low to moderate on most of the sites, however, strong currents may occur at times.

Sea : range between 26°C - 29°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 - 5 mm full wetsuit throughout the year.

Raja Ampat
Best time for diving
Mid October to April, the wind then picks up in May until the end of August, causing rougher seas and this means Misool area in the south will be shut from June to September. From July until September the diving in the north still can be enjoyable. The visibility can vary from 10 - 30 meters, current can be from mild to strong at times.
About temperatures
Air : fairly constant between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : it is warm all year round, about 27°C - 31°C
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm full wetsuit throughout the year.
Diver requirement

Few liveaboards also departs from Waisai (RJM).
