Description

Boat

Carpe Novo is a luxurious 43-metre long, 11-metre wide liveaboard yacht built for comfort, stability and an unforgettable diving experience in the tropical waters of the Maldives. Her wooden hull and decks are designed to deliver smooth cruising between atolls and dive sites, while onboard systems supply 220-volt power throughout the yacht.

Carpe Novo has a large air-conditioned lounge and leisure area on the main deck. There is TV viewing area with full HF media player and stereo music system.

Outside of the lounge area there is another sitting area in the shade with comfortable cushions. There are also a common restroom, a galley, and a dedicated camera room with charging station and tables located on the main deck.

The upper deck features a large dining area with comfortable lounge chairs, and provides access via an outside walkway to the front deck area.

From the upper deck restaurant area a staircase will lead you to the sun deck. On the sun deck you will find plenty of sun beds and a shaded sitting area, which is also excellent for having your sunset drinks.

Carpe Novo prepare meals fresh by the chef and typically include a mix of Western and local dishes served buffet style. Breakfast features fresh fruits, hot entrees, cereals and juices; lunches are a combination of soups, salads, breads and mains; and dinners include salads, vegetables, seafood, chicken or beef with desserts. Guests with special dietary requirements are encouraged to notify the team in advance so the chef can tailor meals accordingly. Beverages such as fruit juices, soft drinks, iced tea, coffee and water are usually included; alcoholic drinks may be available but often at additional cost.

Scuba diving operations are supported by a dedicated diving dhoni, a spacious tender boat equipped to handle dive gear and compressors. Dive facilities include a large dive deck area for gearing up, freshwater showers for rinsing after dives, and a dedicated camera room where underwater photographers can manage and charge their equipment.


Cabin

Carpe Vita has 12 guest cabins, it can welcome 22 guests per trip :

All cabins have individually controlled AC, safety deposit boxes, wide flat screen TV connected to central media system, ensuite bathroom, hanging closet, desk, hair dryer. The electricity voltage on board is of 220V and the plugs are of multinational type

2 Junior Suites - Whale shark, Tiger shark :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin has a king size (200 x 200 cm) beds, upon request it can be separated in two single beds (90 x 200 cm), bathroom with sink dual cabinets and a spacious shower, lots of seaview windows.

2 Junior Suites - Hammerhead, Thresher shark :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin has a king size (200 x 200 cm) beds, bathroom with sink dual cabinets and a spacious shower, lots of seaview windows.

2 Single Suites - Eagle ray, Manta ray :
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with a queen size beds (150 x 200 cm), large windows.

4 Standard Cabins - Turtle, Dolphin, Barracuda, Napoleon :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with a queen size bed and a single bed side by side, portholes.

2 Standard Cabins - Octopus, Frog fish :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, portholes.


Diving

Central Maldives

Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.

About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over the age of 9 months arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (Rf), all liveaboards accept cash payments in USD or EUR.
Most travel-related costs will be billed in the major global currencies such as USD, EUR, as well as credit cards. The ATMs will only provide cash in Maldivian Rufiyaa.

North Maldives

Best time for diving
June to November, North Maldives offers great diving all year, especially in the Far North Atolls, you can expect sunny skies most of the year. And in Hanifaru Bay, each year during June to November is the famous cyclone feeding, which is a rare and spectacular event where over 100 manta rays can feed together and create a chain which the head of each manta ray touches the tail of the manta in front. This creates a huge spiral of up to 200 mantas along with their fellow plankton feeders the Whale Shark.

Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives. For the Far North Atolls, currents can be strong with choppy wave action, we recommend only for experienced divers.

We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.

这次马代的船宿体验总体不错!这艘船很大,客舱是我船宿过最大的,而且船上的相机室也很方便,多尼船也很宽敞。总体的体验不错,餐食正常,不是很惊艳但是也不难吃,口味比较清淡,对于中国人来说可能需要老干妈。潜水的话,潜导很负责,水下速度掌握得不错,不会太快也不会太慢,还会很努力地指东西给你看。船员的服务都不错,基本上都是有求必应的。马代潜水果然性价比不错,比我们上次住度假村的体验好多了,推荐
