Description

Boat

Galatea is a 30 meter long, 6.2 meter wide Turkish steel schooner, it was built in 1987 in Bodrum, Turkey. In 2010 this yacht was bought by Blue Sea Divers - a team full of professional divers, established in the Seychelles since 2002, transferring from Europe and chasing their dreams.

Galatea was fully renovated during 2012 to 2013, and the operator has devoted all the experience to make it exceptionally pleasant and functional for divers. Galatea has become a reality since the summer of 2013 when it is finally reached the archipelago after a long and complete renovation.

Galatea offers a cozy indoor salon with television, video, hi-fi system. A simply and lovely outdoor dinning area with tables which can easily cater up to 14 guests. There are both indoor and out door bar on board, ready to offer you a drink or two with friends. And there is a charming solarium on aft deck and on upper deck.

Galatea also offers to private charter group all the benefits and facilities of a floating villa enabling the guests to explore a variety of exciting and remote locations with comfort and privacy. As a guest you’re able to customise every aspect of your yachting vacation making it a true star experience.

Galatea is the ideal yacht for honeymooners, family with kids/elder, or close circle of friends who want to charter for a luxury cursing trip in the Seychelles.


Cabin

Galatea has 7 comfortable guest cabins, it can cater for a maximum of 14 guests. For full charter, it usually take up to 12 guests only.

All cabins are air conditioned and have ensuite bathroom, ample storage space, outlets, and other facilities.

Onboard electric sockets are 220V European type.

1 Master Cabin - NORTH ISLAND :
Located on main deck, size 16m2, comes with one king size bed (200 x 160), frigo-bar, flat screen TV, sofa, private bathroom with shower and double amenities and a separate toilet with bidet and lavabo, large port windows.

2 Double Bow Cabins - COUSINE & CURIEUSE :
Located on lower deck, size 10m2, each cabin comes with one queen size bed (200 x 140), port windows.

2 Double Central Cabins - FRÉGATE & SILHOUETTE :
Located on lower deck, size 12m2, each cabin comes with one queen size bed (200 x 140), port windows.

2 Double Aft Cabins - THÉRÈSE & CONCEPTION :
Located on lower deck, size 9m2, each cabin comes with one queen size bed (200 x 140), port windows.


Diving

  • For Inner island trip : Diving is offered as a supplement.
  • Diving package can be 6, 8, 10, 12 dives per trip or more.
  • For Amirantes trips : Unlimited dives will be offered.
  • For Madagascar trips : 2 - 3 dives per day will be offered.
  • No dive provided on the day of arrival and departure.

Itineraries

SEYCHELLES INNER ISLANDS

MAHÉ
Mahe is the largest island in Seychelles with 28km long on 8km large (155 sqm). You will find the typical granitic boulders along the beaches. 90% of the Seychelles population leaves in Mahe Island. You can discover there the vibrant and colorfull Seychellois creole culture.

PRASLIN
Located 45 km northeast of the main island of Mahe, Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles with 10 km long and 3.7 km wide (about 37 km²). In the center of the island, a World Heritage of UNESCO, the “Vallée de Mai” houses the “coco de mer”. The beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, are among the most beautiful beaches in the world.

SILHOUETTE
Located 30 km west of Mahe, Silhouette is the third largest island in the Seychelles (about 20 km²). Its tropical forest on Mount Dauban (731 m), brings together many species of plants and trees. For its pristine beauty, Silhouette is a national park since 2010.

LA DIGUE
Neighbor Praslin and islands (Felicity, Marianne and the Sisters Islands), La Digue is the fourth largest island in the Seychelles (about 10 km²). char moves can visit in ox and cycling. The island has a rich biodiversity including species such as Chinese bittern, cave swiftlet and waxbill. Its forests contain Indian almond trees, orchids and vanilla vines. The beach of Anse Source d’Argent is famous for its fine white sand.

FREGATE
Located 55 km east of Mahé, Frégate (approximately 2 km²) is all granite islands, the most remote island. The island receives about fifty species of birds, giant beetles and giant tortoises.

CURIEUSE
Located north of its neighbor Praslin, Curious (approximately 2 km²) is a nature reserve where hawksbill turtles make their home to breed. The island has eight mangrove species and one species of vine. As on Praslin, the coco de mer grows naturally. CERF ISLAND Cerf Island measuring 2 km long and 1 wide. Cerf Island is a part, with SAINT ANNE, ILE LONG ISLAND MEDIUM and the ROUND ISLAND, Marine National Park St. Anne.


SEYCHELLES OUTER ISLANDS | ISLANDS AMIRANTES

The Seychelles outer island like the Amirantes or Aldabra, are front far the most preserved island of Seychelles and in the world. These untouched of paradise are a “must” for qualified divers. Indeed, droopy and drifting dives dramatically increase the chances of encountering sharks, whale sharks, manta rays and other clearly superior size fish species to that of inland islands.

This route include : Group Amiranes, Aldabra Group, Alphonse Group, Farquhar Group, Southern Coral Group.

MADAGASCAR | NOSY AND ISLANDS

Madagascar, one of the largest islands in the world, enjoys the presence of many nearby islands inviting to discovery. The most well-known islands are Nosy Be, that has a very unique biodiversity, with about 100,000 varieties of endemic species! The less popular islands such as Nosy Boraha, Nosy Komba, Nosy Iranja or Nosy Kalajoro are also home to numerous endemic plants and are also the home land for Malagasy tribes where ancestral traditions dominate.

Madagascar is located south of the Seychelles & west of Maurice & La Réunion. This island / country is home to many endemic species. It is around Nosy Be, that you will discover the most beautiful dive sites, you will meet many species of pelagic sharks. Stingrays and manta rays are common.

Thanks to Galatea and established program, you will have the privilege to discover the Malagasy islands. The route developed Allie deftly dives and visits to earth many water activities are possible throughout the stay. A program adapted aus divers and non-divers.

Useful information

Seychelles

Best time for diving
April & May, October to December as during these months the weather condition is at the best, and the underwater visibility is also better than other months.
December to February are the rainy months but you can still enjoy some good dives, it's a year round destination.

About temperatures
Air : range between 24°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : range from 25°C - 30°C year-round, with June & July being the coolest months.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 5 mm full wetsuit for June and July, then 3 mm wetsuit for the rest of the year. As thermoclines do happen from time to time.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives. Drift diving is common due to the stronger currents that occur in the southern islands. You can find out more information about diving in Seychelles here : Seychelles

Embarkation / Disembarkation
The embarkation / disembarkation for Seychelles will be in Mahé, guests need to fly in/out to Seychelles International Airport (SEZ).

Visa Requirements
Seychelles is a visa-free country which means that there are no visa requirements for any persons wishing to travel.
Please refer to Republic of Seychelles - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism for details.

Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over the age of 9 months arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Seychellois Rupee (SCR), all liveaboards accept cash payments in EUR or USD. Most hotel and tourist services accept euros and credit cards. ATMs only dispense SCR. You may not find ATMs beyond the major tourist areas of Mahé, Praslin or La Digue.

Drones
Drones can be brought into the Seychelles with pre-registration. To apply for registration please visit Drone Registration, it's free of charge.

Madagascar

Best time for diving
April to December is generally the best period for diving in Madagascar, with calmer seas and good visibility. January to March is the rainy season and cyclones are possible, which can affect diving conditions. Visibility ranges from 10–30 meters, with mild to moderate currents depending on the region. If you want to see large pelagics such as whale sharks or manta rays, the months of September to November are ideal.

About temperatures
Air: generally ranges between 25°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea: varies from 24°C in the south to 29°C in the north.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm wetsuit for most of the year. In cooler southern regions or during the austral winter (June–August), a 5 mm wetsuit may be more comfortable.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, though some dive sites with stronger currents may require advanced experience. Madagascar offers incredible biodiversity, including coral reefs, macro life, and large pelagics. You can find out more information about diving in this area here: Madagascar

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Popular liveaboard embarkation points include Nosy Be (NSB) in the northwest and Toliara (TLE) in the southwest. Longer trips may combine multiple regions, so ports of embarkation/disembarkation can vary — please ask our agent for details for your specific itinerary.

Visa Requirements
Many nationalities can obtain E-visa for stays up to 30 days. Check the Madagascar Directorate of Immigration for updated information. Proof of onward travel may be required.

Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are recommended. Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for most regions.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Malagasy Ariary (MGA). Liveaboards usually accept cash in USD or EUR. ATMs are available in major towns, but cash is limited in remote areas. Credit cards are accepted in larger hotels and resorts.

Drones
Drone use is permitted in Madagascar but may require prior authorization, especially in national parks and marine reserves. Please check Drone regulations in Madagascar
