Description

Boat

Fiji Princess measuring 55 meters long, 15 meters wide, it carries a team of 30 Fijian crew, you know you will be well looked after with true Fijian hospitality, and the regular trips are adults only (other than our limited family departures). The vessel’s decor is fresh and nautical, with echoes of the romantic age of cruising gone by.

Enjoy most of your meals in our open-air dining room with the cuisine being a mixture of European and Fijian styles, showcasing the best local produce including the la carte Captains Welcome Dinner, onboard themed buffets, and a Traditional Fijian Lovo (4 and 7-night cruises only) on the beach at Nanuya Lailai. Your cruise fare includes breakfast (hot and cold options) with sparkling wine, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner as well as tea, coffee, and filtered water (drinks available 24 hours a day). The only additional food and beverage costs onboard are drinks and additional snacks that are ordered at the bar.

Fiji Princess has a comfortable lounge area with an indoor cocktail bar. There are board games and a small onboard library in this area which is a great meeting place throughout the day. You may want to forget about home but this is one of the best places to access the complimentary WiFi coverage (location permitting).

Fiji Princess offers plenty of time on shore, there are daily activities that will keep you occupied with beach visits, volleyball, hikes, guided snorkelling trips to swimming with reef sharks and manta ray (May - October), village visits, a traditional Fijian church service. While onboard, choose from a dip in the splash pool (filled while anchored) or tune in to a talk from our captain on navigation or a marine biologist on the diverse ecology of the area. There’s something for everyone.


Cabin

Fiji Princess has 34 guest cabins can accommodate up to 68 guests per trip.

Each cabin features a yacht-style ensuite, storage space, TV for in-room movies, vanity table, hairdryer, soft towels, and bathroom amenities by Pure Fiji. The electric current is 240 volts with three-pin power outlets, which are identical to Australia and New Zealand.

All cabins include: a complimentary stocked mini-bar (stocked on the day of departure only) which includes premium beers, soft drinks, French sparkling wine, Fijian chocolate, and snacks (Note: alcoholic beverages can be exchanged for non-alcoholic options if requested at the time of booking). Gifts of a Blue Lagoon Cruises tote bag per cabin and a reusable metal water bottle and sulu (sarong) for each person.

Cabins are allocated upon guest check-in only. We cannot guarantee a particular cabin or deck preference, however, we will certainly do our best to accommodate any specific requests.

FRIDAY - 1ST NIGHT: MODRIKI ISLAND : Bula and welcome aboard Blue Lagoon Cruises! Set sail on M.V. Fiji Princess from Port Denarau for the outer Mamanucas. The first overnight anchorage is in a gorgeous secluded location at Modriki Island, the location for the Tom Hanks movie Cast Away. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and canapés as you watch the sunset. The Captain’s Welcome Dinner is an à la carte meal followed by entertainment from our talented singing, dancing, guitar-playing crew.

SATURDAY - 2ND NIGHT: SOSO BAY : There is time to step ashore and enjoy a swim or wander along the beach before or after breakfast. Sea conditions permitting, there is an opportunity to swim with reef sharks at a secret location en route to our next destination. After lunch, we take a visit to the chiefly village of Soso while this evening, we’ll feast on a traditional Thali dinner. This will feature exquisite Indian dishes, followed by an extravaganza of Bollywood dancing and movies.

SUNDAY - 3RD NIGHT: NAUKACUVU ISLAND : Sunday is a day of rest in Fiji. After breakfast attend a village church service, then we cruise southwards as you enjoy a traditional Sunday roast lunch. Join the Chef for today’s Fijian cooking demonstration on how to make the traditional dish Kokoda. Tonight’s buffet has a range of dishes from Fiji along with a choice of European dishes. There is bingo Fiji-style after dinner.

MONDAY - 4TH NIGHT: YALOBI BAY : As M.V. Fiji Princess arrives at the stunning Sacred Islands you’ll feel as though you’re lost in paradise. The backdrop of the neighbouring Waya Lailai volcanic formations is breathtaking. Spend the remainder of the day swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on the beach. Today you can learn how to make the Roti in Lolo dish, before our new 4-night cruise guests arrive. Watch the sunset and enjoy tonight’s Captain’s Welcome Dinner welcoming them on board.

TUESDAY - 5TH NIGHT: BLUE LAGOON : Our destination today is the famed Blue Lagoon, a superb stretch of water ringed by pretty islands. Blue Lagoon Cruises has its very own private beach here — watch as the crew position M.V. Fiji Princess right up to the beach and tie her off to a coconut tree. Jump off the back into the turquoise waters or take a tender boat to shore where our full bar awaits you. You’ll dine on the beach all day today, including a traditional Lovo meal cooked underground for dinner under the stars. Today’s activities include snorkelling, fish feeding, non-motorised watersports, water aerobics and volleyball, and tonight enjoy a special traditional Meke performance by local villagers

WEDNESDAY - 6TH NIGHT: SAWA-I-LAU : You’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Blue Lagoon if you join our easy 40-minute guided walk to the other side of the island to visit Lo’s Tea House. Lunch is served on board as M.V. Fiji Princess cruises north for a private guided visit to the amazing Sawa-I-Lau Caves. The village of Tamasua welcomes us for a Yaqona (Kava) ceremony, a guided walk around the village and a village-style seafood dinner. Back on board, watch a movie under the stars up on the Sky Deck (weather permitting).

THURSDAY - 7TH NIGHT: DRAWAQA ISLAND : This morning we take an optional excursion to the local island school before cruising to Drawaqa Island. Here, we’ll be joined on board by a marine biologist for a presentation on the local marine life and the volunteer conservation work carried out in the area; during May to October you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel with the magnificent manta rays. Dinner this evening is a BBQ on the Sky Deck (weather permitting) served under the stars. Tonight, our last night together, we party Fiji-style!

FRIDAY : Enjoy breakfast on board as M.V. Fiji Princess cruises back to Port Denarau. Back at port you’ll be serenaded with the traditional Isa Lei farewell song by the crew, as your exploration of the beautiful Yasawa Islands comes to an end.


Diving

Diving is outsourced to one of our reputable partner companies and as such is not included in the cost of the cruise but it is worth it! The Yasawas and Mamanucas offer some fantastic diving opportunities with colourful reefs to explore.

Diving is possible on Sunday morning - Soso Bay, Sunday afternoon - Paradise Cove, Monday - Kuata Island (bull shark dive), Thursday - Drawaqa Island. If you wish to arrange a dive, please let us know during your reservations.

Fiji

Best time for diving
All year round, depends what you want to see. May to October is the prime diving season in Fiji, During this time, the waters are clear, offering visibility up to 40 meters, and currents are typically mild to strong depending on the dive site. November to April, the wet season, can also provide excellent diving, with warmer waters and the chance to see manta rays, whale sharks.

About temperatures
Air : ranges between 24°C - 30°C year-round, with cooler evenings during the dry season.
Sea : generally stays warm throughout the year, ranging from 24°C - 29°C. August to October is the coolest with 24°C - 26°C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm wetsuit during the wet season and a 5 mm wetsuit for the cooler dry season months.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
The most common embarkation and disembarkation point for liveaboards in Fiji is Nadi International Airport (NAN) or the port in Lautoka, just a short drive from the airport.

Visa Requirements
Visitors from over 100 countries, including the EU, the US, and Australia, can enter Fiji visa-free for up to 4 months. Be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date. Details can be found on the Fiji Immigration Department's website.

Vaccinations
No specific vaccinations are required for entry into Fiji. However, it’s recommended to ensure standard vaccinations such as hepatitis A and B, typhoid, and tetanus are up to date. Consult your physician for personalized advice.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Liveaboards generally accept cash payments in USD or FJD, and major credit cards are often accepted onboard. Currency exchange is available at the airport, banks, and exchange outlets in larger towns.
