Description

Boat

Dancing Wind is once known as the Tambora liveaboard. It is built in 2018 with Iron wood, measuring 45 meters long and 9.5 meters wide. It is a Phinisi-style liveaboard that offers great comfort and flair, and at the same time is optimally geared towards supporting a diving operation in terms of safety, convenience, and efficiency. It cruises at 8 knots per hour.

Dancing Wind has been entirely constructed out of Sulawesi iron wood and chosen Javanese teak. While her hull has been painted white, the superstructure, decks and roofs have all been finished with a view towards preserving the natural beauty of the teak wood. All decks and the salon rooftop feature teak parquet flooring. This way, the rustic charm and warmth of a traditional wooden vessel could be preserved.

There is a large salon with separate dining and relaxing sections on the upper deck, with large flat screen TV/DVD with home cinema, offering enough space during mealtimes, as well as for chilling out over a chat and drinks with fellow divers, with a book in your hands, or working on your laptop.

Outside the salon, there is a large outdoor lounge area with lounge beds for relaxation. There are 3 separate lounge decks on board - provide enough space and privacy, and can be fully shielded from the sun.

Dancing Wind serves five freshly prepared meals per day, with cuisine being the perfect blend of Indonesian, European, and Japanese specialties, and soft drinks, water, tea, coffee, and beer are all included in the cruise price (beer included only for non discounted trips). Liquor and a wide selection of wine are available for an additional cost.

Dancing Wind has a large dive platform is located at the backboard side of the vessel, three easy steps down from the main deck. The dive stations is divided into two separate sections, both is well equipped. The wet section features personal dive baskets, two large rinsing tanks, filling station and storage for dive tanks. The dry section features large desktop area as work space, as well as to store sensitive (and often bulky) equipment when not in use, large number of power sockets.

Dancing Wind is equipped with a spacious camera room, perfect for storing and maintaining your underwater camera gear. you can store and drying your equipment. We also offer a maintenance service to help keep your camera in top condition.

Dancing Wind has 8 spacious guest cabins, accommodating 16 - 20 divers:

All cabins have privately controlled AC, en-suite bathrooms, soundproofing, ample storage space for clothes, bags, books, magazines, writing desks and portholes that can be opened. All beds longitudinally aligned with the vessel, so our guests sleep in the direction of the vessel movement.

March 2025 I was on the DANCING Wind Lifeboard for 14 days. The DANCING Wind is a great ship. The cabins very spacious - I was lower deck - very, large comfortable beds, plenty of space in shower and toilet. Storage space available. The dining room large and cozy. On the sundeck with sun sail enough space to relax. Even on the foredeck plenty of space for equipment and to put on. The team mega nice, helpful and always in good spirits with all problems and questions. The dive guides great!

After much research we decided that liveaboard was the best way to go Raja Ampat. And we ruled out the cheap liveaboards where everyone shares the same bathroom, also ruled out the super luxurious but also super epensive options. Thanks Dive and Cruise advice us with Tambora which make our tirp so wonderful! The owner and his wife lived onboard and they made everything ran smoothly and he was very good at choosing the best sites and at the right time. The cabins were all in good size with a nice dark wooden finish, ensuite with a shower, toilet, sink and mirror. The shower was hot and quite powerful. There was a wardrobe and a desk and chair in the cabin, perfect for photo editing. Food was super good onboard, FREE beer and soda, tonic, juice, etc.. The only extra you had to pay for was wine, and of course the marine park fee and Nitrox. The important basics of comfortable sleeping, good food, hot showers and space to relax. We will come back for this boat for sure!
