Description

Boat

Vranjak I is a purpose-built steel dive cruise vessel designed with divers in mind from the ground up. Built in 2012, the vessel measures approximately 28 m in length with a beam of 7 m, providing generous space for both diving operations and onboard relaxation. The boat mainly operates around the Croatian islands and Adriatic dive regions including wrecks, reefs, walls and the Kornati National Park and the island of Vis in the south, to the rugged shores of Istria in the north.

Vranjak I is a three-deck vessel that strikes a practical yet comfortable balance, combines practical diving facilities with a comfortable cruising atmosphere. The main deck is the heart of the boat, housing the fully air-conditioned saloon where guests can unwind between dives, watch TV, or simply enjoy the company of fellow divers. The bar is also located here, along with the kitchen and crew facilities. It's a no-fuss, welcoming space that serves as the social hub of the cruise.

Meals on board are served full board style — breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included in the package. The kitchen team caters to dietary preferences including vegetarian meals, as long as guests inform the crew in advance. Please note that no lunch is served on the first day of arrival (Saturday); only dinner is provided. Tap water, coffee and tea are complimentary throughout the trip. Other beverages are available at additional cost.

The dive deck is purpose-built for serious divers, fitted with dedicated diving seats and personal equipment boxes for each guest. A 5.3 m Arimar RIB tender with a 50 HP outboard engine is used to ferry guests to dive sites efficiently.

Vranjak I carries a comprehensive set of compressors — a Bauer 250, a Bauer 200 and a Bauer Mariner 320 — along with a wide selection of tanks and a helium/oxygen analyzer for technical and advanced nitrox diving. A booster pump is also available on board.

Cabin

Vranjak I has 10 air-conditioned guest cabins, accommodating up to 20 guests:

All cabins are equipped with private ensuite bathrooms (shower and WC), and linen and pillows are provided — no need to bring your own. All cabins on the lower deck have sea-view windows, which are sealed for safety but allow fresh air through the onboard ventilation system.

4 Upper Deck Cabins: Located on the upper deck, these cabins come with twin beds or double bed configuration and offer easy access to the outdoor deck areas.

4 Lower Deck Cabins: Situated in the middle section of the lower deck, these cabins feature comfortable twin or double bed arrangements and portholes. And these cabins are accessed directly from the main deck via external doors, offering convenient and independent access.

Itineraries

General Information

Scuba diving tours are major focus of our business. The main idea is to offer combination of scuba diving, swimming and sightseeing on different diving locations and places along Adriatic coast. This type of cruising is both attractive and interesting for divers and non divers! Diving spots are limited on 40m dept and two dives in one day. This tour can be combined with technical and advanced nitrox diving as well. On this type of cruising, our guests can experience Croatian marine life and cultural heritage.

Cruising tour is the best option for people who want to enjoy sea, sun and good food in combination with different ports along the coast. During this journey, ship stays twice per (before and after lunch) day in nice and remote bays and beaches where guests can enjoy their holiday. In this kind of tour, visits to national parks Kornati and Krka are highly recommendable.

Biking tours are mainly organized with our partners who run specialized agencies for this type of tourism. These tours have special program and guide who is leading the whole group across the islands and from one to another place of town. This kind of tour usually provides half board (breakfast and dinner) and 2 different types of route.

NORTH & SOUTH TOUR

This tour covers the area of Zadar and Šibenik archipelago including the islands Dugi otok, Kornati national park and the area around island Žirje and Zlarin. It is designed primarily for open water and advanced scuba divers because all diving spots are relatively shallow for the Adriatic Sea.

This tour combines caverns, wrecks and walls which are very attractive but they are not located too deep.

It is quite dependable on weather conditions (especially the area of island Dugi otok) but it also offers the possibility for diving in case of bad weather.

Most attractive diving spots are: wreck ‘’Ledenik’’ near the island of Sestrunj ( 20 m), Štuka airplane wreck near the island of Žirje (28 m), cavern Brbišnica or Mežanj on Dugi otok, wreck ‘’Plavi Jadran’’ near island Prvić, beautiful walls and reefs of Kornati National Park, etc.

Possible extra costs for ‘’North & South Tour’’ are national park and wreck fees and fuel surcharge because this tour is longer than our standard tours.

In the case of bad weather the captain has a right to change the route plan.

One the first day of cruising, diving spots and possible suggestions can be discussed with the captain and the dive guide.

After the departure from Sukošan, Vranjak usually spends the first night of cruising (Saturday) in a place called Kukljica on island Ugljan and last night of cruising tour (Friday) is always reserved for the port of Sukošan.

ISTRIA TOUR

Istra tour covers the area from Zadar to Pula and it basically unites three Croatian Adriatic regions: north Dalmatia, Kvarner and Istra.

This tour is highly exposed to weather conditions and these conditions dictate completely dive spots and places where we stay overnight.

Highlight diving spots are: wreck ‘’Ledenik’’ island Sestrunj (20 m), cavern ‘’Cathedral’’ on island Premuda, wreck Euterpe (ex Tihanny, max 35 m) on island Unije, wreck ‘’Vis’’ (18-32m) near Premantura and Baron Gautsch (28-42 m), located about 12 Nm North West from Pula. This whole area is full of wrecks and it is impossible to have a strict schedule for diving spots. Weather and diving experience of the group are the most important factors. All these diving spots are completely exposed to the direction of the open sea!

All wrecks on this tour are under special protection by the Ministry of Culture and therefore all divers have to pay fees to dive on these wrecks.

On the first day of the tour, when a general 7 days forecast is available, the captain will discuss with the group leader and all guests if the tour can or cannot be done and alternative routes will be suggested.

After the departure from Sukošan, Vranjak usually spends the first night of cruising (Saturday) in a place called Kukljica on island Ugljan and last night of cruising tour (Friday) is always reserved for the port of Sukošan.

VIS/KORNATI TOUR

Vis/Kornati tour covers the area from Zadar up to island Vis which is located around 30 knots west from Split. Island Vis is best known for diving in central Dalmatia and it is especially attractive because of wrecks and great visibility of sea.

Vis/Kornati tour is highly dependable on the weather circumstances. Island Vis is located on the open sea so sometimes south wind (jugo) and North West wind (tramontana) can create high waves and unstable weather. This kind of bad weather is not so usual but in case that we cannot dive on Vis, this tour can be replaced with a South or Kornati tour.

This tour can be done separately without visiting Kornati national park.

Vis/Kornati tour is recommendable for advanced scuba divers only!

Our diving spots are: wrecks Vassilios T (25-55m), wreck Tetti (6-34m), rock Volići (gorgonians already start on the depth of 25 m), island Host (ancient wreck with amphora, 11-35 m).

Useful information

Croatia

Best time for diving
Croatia offers enjoyable diving conditions from late spring to autumn, with the main season running from May to October.

Northern Adriatic (Istria & Kvarner Gulf):
The best time is from June to September when the sea is warm and visibility is at its peak. Spring and early summer (May – June) are ideal for wreck diving due to better visibility and fewer crowds. Marine life includes groupers, lobsters, and nudibranchs, while historic wrecks are a major highlight.

Central Adriatic (Kornati, Zadar & Split regions):
The best diving conditions are from May to October, with July and August offering the warmest waters. This region is known for its dramatic underwater walls, caves, and abundant reef fish. September and October are particularly good for visibility and fewer tourists.

Southern Adriatic (Vis, Hvar & Dubrovnik):
The best time is from June to October. Vis Island is especially famous for wreck diving, including WWII aircraft and ships. Late summer and early autumn (August – October) provide the calmest seas and best visibility, with frequent sightings of barracuda, amberjack, and octopus.

Wetsuit Recommendation
For most Croatia liveaboard and diving trips, we recommend a 5mm full wetsuit during the main season (May – June and September – October). In the peak summer months (July – August), a 3mm full wetsuit or even a shorty may be sufficient, especially in the southern regions. Some divers may prefer an additional hood or vest for deeper or repetitive dives.

Diver requirement
Croatia is generally suitable for Open Water divers and above, but many of the best dive sites (such as deep wrecks, walls, and caves) are more suitable for Advanced Open Water divers due to depth and conditions. Some wreck dives may require Deep Diver or specialty certifications. In most cases, dives are guided by local dive professionals, but divers should be comfortable with buoyancy control and basic navigation. Embarkation / Disembarkation
Most Croatia liveaboard trips depart from coastal cities such as Split or Dubrovnik. Guests should fly in/out from Split Airport (SPU) or Dubrovnik Airport (DBV). On the embarkation day depends on the liveaboard you chose, our agent will tell you the details.

Visa Requirements
Croatia is part of the Schengen Area. Travellers from many countries can enter visa-free for short stays, while others will need a Schengen visa. Please refer to Visa Requirements for details.

Vaccinations
There are no mandatory vaccinations required to enter Croatia. However, it is recommended to be up to date with routine vaccinations. Please consult your local health authority for the latest advice before travel.

Money Matters
The local currency in Croatia is the Euro (EUR). Credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted, while smaller establishments may prefer cash.

Drones
Drones can be brought into Croatia but must comply with EU drone regulations. Registration may be required depending on the drone weight and usage. Please visit Drone Rules in the EU for more details.

Extending your holiday
We offer a range of hotels/resorts, land-based diving packages, and excursions that can be arranged before or after your liveaboard holiday. Just ask us if you need such service.
