Description

Boat

Atlantis Azores is a 32.61 meters long, 5.5 meters wide aluminum dive liveaboard built in 1989 and completely refit in 2012 and 2015. It cruises at 7 - 8 knots per hour.

Whichever exciting destination you choose you will get the most from your vacation. The facilities on board the Atlantis Azores has been set up for divers by divers, including modern safety features and lots of extras to make your dive holiday all you expect.

The main deck has a beautiful air conditioned salon with a wide selection of movies on our flat screen TV, a library, an assortment of board games and cards is also available.

Atlantis Azores offers essential dive equipment such as signal tubes, whistles and flashlights, as well as logo t-shirts, caps and other souvenirs.

Atlantis Azores proudly adhere to our principle of only serving freshly prepared meals and snacks. The snack and drink bar is open all day – featuring a Keurig cup brewing center with multiple choices. All drinks on board including social servings of beer, wine and local rum are complimentary. You may also bring your own beverages with no corkage fee.

The upper deck is partially shaded with chaise lounges, complete wet bar, an assortment of sitting areas with tables and a large swim platform with warm freshwater showers.

The spacious dive deck allows you to gear up in comfort. A roomy three-tier camera table is available for photographers along with a charging station. All divers have their own storage area for dive equipment and there are fresh, hot water showers on the back platform.

Most dives are done from two zodiac tender boats with a short ride to dives sites. Our dive team will ensure you get the best from every dive. Technical diving and Rebreather diving is possible if pre-arranged.


Cabin

Atlantis Azores has 8 guest cabins, It can welcome up to 16 guests per trip:

All cabins feature ensuite lavatory, private head and shower, hairdryer and shower gel. As well as individually controlled air conditioned.

1 Suite Cabin :
Located on the upper deck, this cabin comes with double and single bunk-style berths, a desk, large picture windows and extensive storage space.

1 Deluxe Cabin :
Located on the lower deck, this cabin comes with double bed.

6 Deluxe Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with double and single bunk-style berths.


Diving

Tubbataha Reef is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and only accessible by liveaboard three months out of the year. These pristine reefs, located 100 miles offshore, are protected by rangers year round and made up of North and South Atolls and Jessie Beazley Reef. Divers can experience wonderful visibility and some of the best diving the Philippines has to offer from March until June each year.

Tubbataha Reefs Natural Parks is quite simply one of Asia's best diving spots and on the 'wish list' for most avid divers; its home to no less than 573 species of fish, 373 species of corals, 11 species of sharks, 12 species of dolphins and whales, nestling hawksbill and green sea turtle.

Atlantis Adventurer’s latest exciting itinerary is to the sunken World War II wrecks of Coron Bay via Apo Reef. A typical charter starts with two days of exploring the 34 mile long reef system of Apo Reef, often referred to by many as a “mini-Tubbataha”.

Twenty four Japanese ships were sunk in Coron Bay on September 24, 1944 by the US Navy; you will have an opportunity to dive the best of these during our time there taking in both the unique history of the area and the amazing amount of fish and coral life that now cover the wrecks.

These charters alternate between starting in Sablayan and ending in Coron and starting in Coron and ending in Sablayn. This charter is great to combine with a stay at our Puerto Galera resort.

Coron and Apo Reef

Best time for diving
November to May is considered the best diving season, with generally calm seas and optimal visibility. The dry season runs from October to June, offering the most stable weather conditions. Diving is possible year-round, but July to September may experience stronger winds and rougher seas due to the southwest monsoon. Visibility typically ranges between 15 – 30 meters, and currents are usually mild, especially in Coron, while Apo Reef can experience moderate currents.

About temperatures
Air: generally ranges between 26°C – 32°C year-round.
Sea: warm throughout the year, usually between 26°C – 29°C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
A 3 mm wetsuit is recommended year-round. Some divers may prefer a shorty during the warmer months.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Most liveaboards embark and disembark in Busuanga / Coron (USU). Some itineraries may start or end in Batangas or Puerto Galera, especially when combined with other destinations. Please ask our agent to confirm the exact port for your selected trip.

The rainy season usually runs from June to October, with occasional typhoons, mainly affecting the northern Visayas. Visibility typically ranges between 15 – 30 meters, with mild to moderate currents depending on the site.

Air: generally ranges between 26°C – 32°C year-round.
Sea: warm throughout the year, usually between 26°C – 30°C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
A 3 mm wetsuit is suitable year-round. Some divers may prefer a 5 mm during longer dives between December and February.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced divers. Calm reefs, abundant macro life, whale shark encounters (seasonal), and occasional stronger currents make the Visayas ideal for both training dives and advanced drift diving. Tubbataha Reef

Best time for diving
March to June is considered the best season for diving in Tubbataha, as the seas are calm and visibility is excellent, often between 20 – 40 meters. Currents can be moderate to strong, making some sites more suitable for experienced divers. The park is closed from mid-June to mid-March due to rough seas during the rainy season.

About temperatures
Air: generally ranges between 28°C - 34°C during the diving season.
Sea: warm all year round, around 27°C - 30°C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
A 3 mm wetsuit is usually sufficient, although some divers prefer a 5 mm for longer dives or early-season trips.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Liveaboards usually depart from Puerto Princesa (PPS), Palawan. For the 1st and last trip during the dive season, itineraries include a return to Puerto Princesa or an alternate port, please check with our agent for exact details.
