Description

Boat

Seafari Explorer 2 is a spacious and beautifully refurbished dive liveaboard sailing the warm waters of the Maldives. Fully upgraded in 2020, this professional vessel stretches approximately 43 m in length with a beam of 10 m, designed to combine comfort and functionality for divers and leisure travellers alike.

On the top deck, there is a spacious and partially shaded sun deck with lounge chairs for relaxing in between the dives.

On the upper deck, there are two jacuzzi, one is located at the fornt of the boat, and one on the back, as well as plenty of loungers for soaking up the sun and relaxing with music.

On the main deck, there is the homey & morden lounge with sofas, indoor dining area, a fully equipped bar, audio system, video station, large TV set with movies, a well stocked library, and many power points for charging and preparing your laptop, camera and video equipment. The lounge area provides a perfect place to trade stories about the days diving and download brilliant photographs of your day.

Seafari Explorer 2 provides divings from the dive dhoni boat, which provide comfort and function at the same time. All the diving equipment, compressors and tanks stay in the dive dhoni during the cruise, in order to keep the noise away from the main boat when filling the tanks.


Cabin

Seafari Explorer 2 has 14 spacious cabins which can comfortably welcome 26 guests.

All cabins include wardrobe/storage, private bathroom with hot shower, and individual air conditioning for a restful night after diving.

6 Deluxe Cabins :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin comes with a king-sized double bed, floor-to-ceiling windows.

2 Single Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with one single bed, lots of storage area, portholes.

6 Standard Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with double bed or twin bed (Convertible), portholes.


Diving

  • 2 - 3 dives per day (1 - 2 night dive per week).
  • No dive on the embarkation and disembarkation day.
  • Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.

This signature itinerary is perfect for a first liveaboard experience in the Maldives or for those wishing to discover the true essence of the archipelago. Over seven days, you’ll explore the central atolls, from North Malé to South Malé via Ari Atoll, following a route that includes some of the most iconic dive sites in the country.

Best of Mantas

Experience something truly unique, accompanied by one of our destination directors, as you witness the largest manta ray gathering in the world. Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.

About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

North Maldives

Best time for diving
June to November, North Maldives offers great diving all year, especially in the Far North Atolls, you can expect sunny skies most of the year. And in Hanifaru Bay, each year during June to November is the famous cyclone feeding, which is a rare and spectacular event where over 100 manta rays can feed together and create a chain which the head of each manta ray touches the tail of the manta in front. This creates a huge spiral of up to 200 mantas along with their fellow plankton feeders the Whale Shark.

Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives. For the Far North Atolls, currents can be strong with choppy wave action, we recommend only for experienced divers.

December to April offers the best visibility and sea conditions. Although short spells of heavy rainfall can be experienced during the summer months, but this region do offer good diving all year round.

Air : range between 28°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.
