Black Manta is a luxurious liveaboard haven designed by divers for divers. This high class luxury boat accompanied by two diving boats offers an unforgettable diving experience.
Black Manta measures 42 meters long and 9 meters wide, with 2x50KW generators and Doosan 800hp engines onboard. Its purpose-built structure ensures that divers' needs are met, while providing a seamless blend of comfort and style.
Black Manta boasts a stunning design that exudes elegance and sophistication. For those seeking relaxation and a chance to soak up the sun, it features a large sundeck on the upper deck, offers ample space to unwind, lounge, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas as you embark on your unforgettable diving journey.
Black Manta offers guests delicious meals throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served with a focus on fresh, locally inspired cuisine, and meals are often enjoyed in outdoor dining spaces with scenic views of the Maldives’ turquoise waters. Special dietary requirements can usually be accommodated with advance notice during booking. A selection of beverages including soft drinks, tea and coffee is typically available onboard.
At the level of the sundeck , a dedicated massage room awaits you. Here, you can treat yourself to soothing and invigorating massages, designed to rejuvenate your body and mind after an eventful day of exploration beneath the waves.
Black Manta invested in efficient engines and generators to reduce our carbon footprint, thus demonstrating a firm commitment to the environment. In addition, we're proud to be part of the "No Paper" movement, having embraced digitalization for the majority of our operations, resulting in a significant reduction in paper usage.
Black Manta has 1 diving Dhoni measures 20 meters long with air compressor and Nitrox, and an additional 8 meters long speedboat.
There is going to be a dedicated camera room, with plenty of spaces to set up, clean, recharge and store camera rigs, and even masseuses onboard, with an area designated for massages. What a way to round out a day of diving!
There are also a number of kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for use by the guests when they are not diving.
Additionally, free WiFi is available, allowing you to stay connected with loved ones and share your incredible diving adventures.
Cabin
Black Manta features 16 well-appointed cabins, with the capacity to accommodate up to 32 enthusiastic group request, for regular trips, we purposely limit this to a maximum of 28 guests.
All cabins fully air conditioned cabins with private bathroom, lockers and drawers, reading light, smoke alarm and alarm system, electricity outlets.
2 Superior Cabins:
Located on the upper deck, 18sqm in size, each comes with two single beds or one double bed, panoramoic windows.
4 Premium Cabins:
Located on the upper deck, 18sqm in size, each comes with two single beds or one double bed, seaview windows.
2 Deluxe Cabins:
Located on the main deck and upper deck, 14sqm in size, each comes with two single beds or one double bed, seaview windows.
8 Standard Cabins:
Located on the lower deck, 15sqm in size, each comes with two single beds or one double bed, portholes.
Diving
- Typically 2 - 3 dives per day, depending on itinerary.
- No dive on the embarkation and disembarkation day.
- Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.
- All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.
- Divers need to be AOW level with min. 50 logged dives.

Central Maldives
Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.
About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.
Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

The embarkation / disembarkation for Central Maldives cruise will be in Malé, guests need to fly in/out to Velana International Airport (MLE).

North Maldives
Best time for diving
June to November, North Maldives offers great diving all year, especially in the Far North Atolls, you can expect sunny skies most of the year. And in Hanifaru Bay, each year during June to November is the famous cyclone feeding, which is a rare and spectacular event where over 100 manta rays can feed together and create a chain which the head of each manta ray touches the tail of the manta in front. This creates a huge spiral of up to 200 mantas along with their fellow plankton feeders the Whale Shark.

Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

December to April offers the best visibility and sea conditions. Although short spells of heavy rainfall can be experienced during the summer months, but this region do offer good diving all year round.

Air : range between 28°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.
Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.
